It is a private non-profit organisation, and its main objectives, apart from the restoration and maintenance of the building and grounds,are its function as a cultural centre, and ensuring that this legendary woman\u2019s story is known to the world.<\/p>\n<p>Visitors to the museum have the opportunity to learn about the legendary <em>Capetanissa<\/em> and admire collections of weapons, antique books, porcelain, documents and letters, personal items of the heroine, maps, embroidery, Byzantine icons, furniture from the 17th to the 20th century and of course the beautiful Florentine carved ceiling of the grand salon, the preservation of which was one of the main reasons the museum was opened in 1991. Bouboulina\u2019s story is available in printed form in 25 languages. Furthermore, private tours and events are also available, subject to arrangement in advance.<\/p>\n<p>Since its founding, more than 1.500.000 euros &#8211; mainly generated from the proceeds of visitors\u2019 tickets but also state and European funding &#8211; have been spent on building renovation and artefact restoration work, and the Museum has welcomed more than 1.200.000 visitors (including 400.000 students) from Greece and abroad.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element
